Hurricane pinball rules and strategy

The Strategy

Hurricane qualifies Juggler Multiball through duck targets and two locks, then converts its duration into timed playfield scoring after the last ball drains. Prepare the Comet million, repeat the Hurricane ramp through 1M, 2M, and 5M, then collect Mystery and Comet during the post-Multiball multiplier.

The goal

Hit the ducks to qualify Juggler Multiball, then loop the Hurricane ramp for 1M, 2M, and 5M. Cash Mystery and a prepared Comet million during the post-multiball playfield multiplier.

  1. Test the ducks, Juggler locks, Hurricane ramp, and Comet feed before choosing how aggressively to qualify multiball.

  2. Complete the duck targets to light the first Juggler lock, then collect it.

  3. Repeat for the second lock and plunge the third ball to begin multiball.

  4. Repeat the Hurricane ramp for the 1M, 2M, and 5M sequence while preserving at least two controlled balls.

  5. Before the final drain, use Ferris Wheel or the required progress to leave the Comet million ready. Skip this setup and start Multiball immediately when another Comet shot would risk the ball or the match needs only the ramp awards.

  6. Keep multiball active to lengthen the later multiplier window; raised flippers pause its time accumulation but do not determine whether code awards 2x, 3x, or 5x.

  7. After multiball ends, take lit Mystery, then collect the prepared Comet million while 2x, 3x, or 5x playfield scoring remains active.

  8. Resume ducks and Juggler locks before pursuing lower-value face or bonus work.

Alternative route: Recovery: Palace and Comet scoring

Recovery pivot: Use this when duck rebounds or Juggler locks are unsafe but the Hurricane, Comet, or Ferris Wheel shots are repeatable.

  1. Use the repeatable Hurricane or Comet ramp to raise the Jackpot; Hurricane million shots also award Palace letters.
  2. Use Ferris Wheel to relight Comet.
  3. Collect the available Comet million without forcing Dummy targets.
Need to know
Juggler locks
Duck targets light two locks; plunging the third ball starts the main multiball.
Hurricane ramp
During multiball, repeated Hurricane ramps score the 1M, 2M, and 5M sequence.
Playfield multiplier
Code chooses 2x, 3x, or 5x playfield scoring; active multiball time sets the window length, with a 15-second minimum, and Jackpot is excluded.

Machine setup

  • Confirm production L-2 code, ball count, lock difficulty, jackpot values, post-multiball timer, and Extra Ball conversion.
  • Test ducks, Juggler locks and eject, Hurricane and Comet ramps, Ferris Wheel, Mystery, and every return feed.
