"300" / Top Score pinball rules and strategy

The Strategy

In ‘300’ and Top Score, build the backglass Bonus toward ten units, then shoot the upper-left collect saucer before more advances are wasted. The right mystery saucer adds one, two, or three units. Every five spinner turns add one unit. The upper-left side lane opens the right-side gate, which protects the exit from the eight-lane waterfall.

The goal

Build Bonus with the spinner and upper-playfield action, but watch the backglass count. As it approaches ten, prioritize the left collect saucer so the next advances still matter. Use the left side lane to open the right gate before challenging the eight-lane waterfall.

  1. Use the center spinner and upper-playfield lanes to add Bonus units.

  2. Take the right mystery saucer when available to add one, two, or three units.

  3. Watch the backglass count and shoot the upper-left collect saucer as Bonus approaches ten units.

  4. After the saucer scores and resets the Bonus, repeat the build-and-collect cycle.

  • Test the backglass ball-count unit, both upper-left saucers and kickouts, center spinner and five-turn step relay, all eight right-side lanes and lamps, left gate-opening lane, right gate, return lanes, and stand-ups.
