301/Bulls Eye pinball rules and strategy

The Strategy

Hit numbered targets and lower saucers until the dart score reaches 301 or zero, according to the installed setting. Use a flashing 2x or 3x top-left rollover before a valuable number. Spell D-A-R-T, then shoot the flashing top saucer for an instant 301 win.

The goal

Treat each dart score as the current objective: use the numbered targets for controlled progress, take a flashing 2x or 3x rollover before a useful number, and prioritize D-A-R-T because Grand Dart turns the top saucer into an instant game win.

  1. Check whether this game counts up from 0 to 301 or down from 301 to zero.

  2. Hit numbered targets and lower saucers to move the dart score toward the current goal; the top saucer scores a 50-point Bullseye.

  3. When 2x or 3x flashes at the top-left rollover, pass through it before hitting a useful numbered target.

  4. Spell D-A-R-T, then shoot the top saucer while Grand Dart flashes to win the current 301 Game immediately.

Machine setup

  • Confirm whether switch 6 is set for increasing 0-to-301 or decreasing 301-to-zero play, and post that direction clearly.
  • Check the operator-set number of 301 wins required for inside-lane Extra Ball and outside-lane Special, plus whether each award gives a ball, replay, or points.
  • Test the numbered targets, both lower saucers, top Bullseye saucer, D-A-R-T progress, top-left 2x/3x rollover, inside lanes, and outside lanes.
