Alice Goes to Wonderland pinball rules and strategy

Strategy summary

Early code. Rules may change.

The goal

Eight task lights around Alice track each level. Finish the matching playfield features to advance; the castle and tea table also offer timed scoring. Later levels require more shots, and Level 3 requires a fixed task order.

  1. Levels and task lights

Complete all eight task lights around Alice to advance. In Levels 1 and 2, work on tasks in any order and shoot their blinking lights. Completing either level briefly disables the flippers, preserves your remaining balls, and awards an extra ball.

  2. Caterpillar Advice

Hit the three Caterpillar targets on the left to finish this task in Level 1 or Level 2. The completed task lights its matching symbol around Alice.

  3. Potion Bottle

Roll past the Potion Bottle on the left twice in Level 1, or six times in Level 2, to finish the grow task.

  4. Queen’s Castle

Shoot the left Queen’s Castle ramp to complete its task lights and start a 30-second countdown. Repeat that ramp during the countdown for 100,000 points per shot in Level 1 or 1,000,000 in Level 2.

  5. Keys

Roll through all three key lanes above the mushroom bumpers to collect the three keys. Collecting all three finishes this task in Level 1 or Level 2.

  6. Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Circle the upper-right tea table four times in Level 1, or nine times in Level 2, to finish the task and start 30 seconds. During that countdown, shoot under the table for 100,000 points in Level 1 or 1,000,000 in Level 2.

  7. Cheshire Cat Directions

Shoot through the forest path on the right twice in Level 1, or five times in Level 2, to finish the Cheshire Cat task.

  8. Cookie

Roll past the Cookie on the right twice in Level 1, or six times in Level 2, to finish the shrink task.

  9. White Rabbit

Roll through the right-side White Rabbit lane twice in Level 1, or five times in Level 2, to finish this task.

  10. Ramp streaks — firmware 1.1.5

Make six consecutive Queen’s Card Ramp shots for 1,000,000 points, or three consecutive Cheshire Cat Ramp shots for 2,000,000. These are separate streak awards from the level tasks. The older repeated ramp-score doubling has been removed.

  11. Mushroom bumpers — firmware 1.1.5

The mushroom counter resets each ball. Reach 51 hits for an immediate 500,000 points, or 101 hits for an immediate 1,000,000. Bumper hits also build end-of-ball bonus; the million-point award is not paid again in bonus.
