Count-Down pinball rules and strategy

The Strategy

In Count-Down, completing the four colored drop banks raises Bonus X, and target hits raise base bonus. The top saucer collects their product, resets only the base, and leaves the multiplier ready for another collect.

The goal

Complete the green, yellow, red, and blue drop-target banks for 5x Bonus, build base bonus to 20,000, then collect it at the top saucer without losing the multiplier.

  1. Reach 5x Bonus

Complete the green bank for 2x Bonus, yellow for 3x, red for 4x, then blue for 5x.

  2. Build the base bonus

Keep hitting drop targets until base bonus reaches 20,000 and the top saucer lights.

  3. Collect and rebuild

At 4x or 5x, use an upper mini-flipper or a bank rebound to send the ball into the top saucer. The collect resets base bonus but leaves Bonus X active for the rest of the ball.

Need to know
Green, yellow, red, and blue banks
Complete green for 2x. Add yellow for 3x, red for 4x, and blue for 5x.
Completed-bank value
After a color bank is completed once on a ball, each target in that bank scores 5,000 instead of 500.
Base bonus
Drop targets build it. At 20,000, the top saucer lights to collect the current base bonus times the active multiplier.

Machine setup

  • Check whether the center post is present, then test each colored-bank rebound and both upper mini-flippers.
