Dipsy Doodle / Doodle Bug / Love Bug pinball rules and strategy

The Strategy

In Dipsy Doodle, Doodle Bug, or Love Bug, first raise the center post through a side up-post lane. Then hit targets 1, 2, 3, and 4 in order and shoot the center target to start the Doodler. Send the ball up top without touching a stop-Doodler rollover.

The goal

Protection comes before the target sequence. Complete 1–4 to raise the Doodler value, start it at the center target, and keep the ball between the bumpers while it runs. Love Bug can raise the Doodler through more value steps than Dipsy Doodle.

  1. Plunge for the top saucer, favoring an award that lights a bumper color or a useful 5,000 value.

  2. Keep the ball up top until either side up-post lane raises the center post.

  3. Settle the ball against the post and use small transfers to shoot targets 1, 2, 3, and 4 in order.

  4. Hit the center target to start the Doodler, accepting that this lowers the center post.

  5. Send the ball into the interior bumper area while avoiding the stop-Doodler rollovers for as long as possible.
