El Toro pinball rules and strategy

The Strategy

In El Toro, graze the numbered mushroom bumpers to light values in the right-side chute. Once two or more numbers are lit, shoot that upper-right chute repeatedly if its return is safe. Complete E-L-T-O-R-O only when Extra Ball or Special is enabled.

The goal

Use grazing hits on mushroom bumpers 1, 2, and 3 so the ball continues upward instead of rebounding at the drain. The right flipper can work number 1; the left flipper can work numbers 2 and 3. Cash the qualified chute values whenever its feed is controllable.

  1. Plunge for the center lane, then try to exit through a lit 1,000-point top lane.

  2. From the right flipper, graze the edge of mushroom bumper 1 so the ball keeps moving up the playfield.

  3. From the left flipper, graze mushroom bumpers 2 and 3 instead of hitting them squarely.

  4. After two or more chute values are qualified, shoot the upper-right chute and repeat it while the return remains safe.

  5. Pursue E-L-T-O-R-O only when its Extra Ball or Special lane is active and worth the extra target risk.
