Fore pinball rules and strategy

Strategy summary

  1. Roll over the lit numbered hole buttons in order from 1 through 9. Completing the yardage set or passing through the lit top-center lane also advances the hole. The top-center lane scores 1,000 points whether or not hole advance is lit.

  2. Complete the configured one, two or three holes to light the center 5,000-point target and alternating left and right 5,000-point targets. Hit a lit target for 5,000 points. After completing hole 4, both side targets stay lit for the rest of the game.

  3. Hit the yardage targets to collect their values. The upper-left lane collects 25 yards; the upper-right lane collects 45. The left outlane collects 85 yards and the right outlane collects 65. Complete all ten yardage values for Special and a fresh set. Special awards a replay, extra ball or 5,000 points, depending on setup. In five-ball play, advancing a hole resets yardage after the 5,000-point targets have been qualified. In three-ball play, completing hole 9 also awards Special.

  4. Roll over either up-post button to raise the center post between the flippers. The down-post button lowers it. A drain, tilt or new game also lowers the post.

Machine setup

  • Check the ball count and Special award. Tilt ends the game, not just the ball.
