Hot Wheels pinball rules and strategy
The Strategy
Hot Wheels multiplies nearly every award by the tach value, while Battles and Multiballs can run together. Hit flashing RPM targets first to raise and briefly hold the tach. Complete B-A-T-T-L-E, use either spinner to select an incomplete creature, and shoot the right saucer to start the Battle; start any ready Multiball while the Battle runs.
The goal
Hit the RPM targets to raise the tach. Shoot the right saucer to start a Battle, or hit the Track Builder target and shoot the left saucer for Track Builder Unlimited.
Start a Battle
For the first Battle, hit any BATTLE target or the right clock-tower drop to collect missing letters. Later Battles require unlit BATTLE targets. Use either spinner to select an incomplete creature, then shoot the right saucer to start; the first two Battles also start at the left saucer. Qualify BATTLE before multiball. Follow the creature's displayed shots, and hit relit BATTLE targets to add fuel.
Start Track Builder Unlimited
Hit the Track Builder drop target or left saucer four times, then shoot the green-lit left saucer to start two-ball Track Builder Unlimited. Shoot the right saucer within 15 seconds to add a third ball and double the base Jackpot. Shoot the lit loops and orbits for Jackpots, then shoot the left saucer for the Super Jackpot.
Start Turbo scoring
Hit flashing RPM targets to raise and briefly hold the tach, and make pop-bumper hits to light Turbo at the kickback. Shoot the kickback when the tach is high to lock its value at ten times the tach for 15 seconds.
Alternative route: Loop Crash Multiball
This is another main Multiball route.
- Alternate the left inner loop and right orbit six times to qualify the first Loop Crash, then shoot the left orbit to start it. Later qualifications add two shots, up to twelve.
Need to know
- Tach and gear
- The tach is a playfield-scoring multiplier for almost every award; RPM targets raise it, and each Red Line Mania raises the next gear's minimum.
- Victory Lap Multiball
- Advance through the race-position shots and finish at the left orbit for four-ball play.
- Loop Crash Multiball
- Alternate the left inner loop and right orbit to qualify it, then use the left orbit to start and to set up its magnet Super Jackpot.
Hot Wheels multiplies nearly every award by the tach value, and Battles can run with every main Multiball. Build tach first with flashing RPM targets, then complete B-A-T-T-L-E, use either spinner to select an incomplete creature, and shoot the right saucer to start the Battle. Follow the race-position inserts for Victory Lap and alternate the left inner loop with the right orbit six times for the first Loop Crash; when both are ready, shoot the left orbit to start them together as five-ball play.
The goal
Build tach first with the RPM targets, start a prepared Battle, then combine Loop Crash and Victory Lap at the left orbit for five-ball play.
- Soft-plunge through the numbered rollover zones, then shoot the lit left orbit for the Super Skill Shot.

- Each passed rollover adds tach progress.
- The left-orbit Super Skill Shot also awards the first race position and can place the ball on the loop magnet.
- Hit flashing RPM targets whenever the tach falls. Do not let passive decay erase the multiplier before a major collect.
- Follow the blinking race-position shots from 12th place through 1st, but leave the final left-orbit checkered flag uncollected while Loop Crash is still being qualified.

- Battle modes stack with all main multiballs.
- The first two Battles can also start at the left saucer.
- Lit BATTLE targets add time during a running Battle; completing the bank adds a larger amount.
- For the first Battle, any BATTLE target or the right saucer's clock-tower drop target spots one missing BATTLE letter. Later Battles require unlit targets. Qualify the letters before multiball; they cannot be earned during it.
- Shoot the left orbit when both Loop Crash and Victory Lap are ready to start their five-ball stack.
- For Victory Lap, collect the four major Jackpots, then shoot the kickback for the Super Jackpot.

- The left ramp, left orbit, right ramp, and right orbit score progressive Jackpots.
- The collected Jackpot progress determines the Super Jackpot multiplier.
- For Loop Crash, make loop, orbit, and pop crashes. At ten crashes, shoot the left orbit to hold a ball on the magnet, then hit the left orbit again to knock it free for the Super Jackpot.
For Loop Crash, make loop, orbit, and pop crashes.
- Later Super Jackpots require more crashes.
- When Turbo is lit and the tach is high, shoot the kickback and use the 15-second window on active Battle or Jackpot shots.
- After the stack, rebuild tach first. Resume race, Loop Crash, BATTLE, and EPIC progress from the playfield inserts.
