King Pin / Pin-up pinball rules and strategy

The Strategy

In King Pin, plunge the lit upper saucer for 5,000. Shoot the indicated bowling-pin drop for 5,000 instead of 500; the center star rollover moves the lit pin. Completing all ten drops scores another 5,000 and resets the bank. Bank controlled shots off the upper slings rather than firing blindly at the target row.

The goal

Start with the 5,000 saucer skill shot, then bank toward a lit pin from the opposite upper sling. Unlit targets still contribute to the 5,000 bank completion, so finish the row when only a few remain.

  1. Plunge the lit upper saucer for 5,000; Move the cabinet briefly so the playfield shifts under the ball, changing its speed or path after contact with a post, rubber, or wall. only enough to prevent the ball missing both saucers.

  2. Identify the lit bowling pin and choose the opposite upper sling as a bank surface.

  3. Shoot the bank so the rebound reaches the lit drop for 5,000 and can return toward the other flipper.

  4. Take unlit drops when they complete the ten-pin row or provide a safer rebound.

  5. Finish all ten drops for 5,000 and a bank reset, then repeat with the newly indicated pin.
