Strategy summary

The goal

The Game switch selects three different sets of target rules. Light all four suit targets during one ball for a 12,000-point payout bonus. The three Lucky 7 rollovers earn an extra ball; Double or Nothing puts the selected ball's points at stake.

  1. Suit targets: The four targets across the top correspond to four suit rollovers farther down the playfield. Lighting a target raises its matching rollover from 1,000 to 3,000 points. Games 1 and 2 light targets on any hit; Game 3 requires order.

  2. Payout bonus: Each target lit during the current ball adds 1,000 bonus points when that ball drains. Lighting all four changes the total payout to 12,000. A tilt loses this bonus.

  3. Game 1 (Beginner's Luck): The top target lights scan. Hit a target while the scanning light is on it for 5,000 points and stop the scan. Other target hits score 1,000. A target stays lit once hit.

  4. Game 2 (Cool Hand): After a short scan, one randomly chosen top target keeps blinking. Its first hit scores 5,000 and stops the blinking. All other target hits score 1,000. Hit all four targets during one ball for the full payout bonus.

  5. Game 3 (High Roller): Hit the top targets in order from left to right to light them. Out-of-order hits score 1,000 but add no payout bonus and do not light the matching suit rollover. There is no flashing 5,000-point target.

  6. Completing Game 3's targets: The fourth target, hit in sequence, scores 10,000 instead of 1,000. Completing the four-target sequence also sets the end-of-ball payout bonus to 12,000. Earlier in-sequence targets score 1,000 and light their matching suit rollovers.

  7. Jackpot Extra Ball: Roll over all three Lucky 7 switches in the upper-right area during one ball. Each rollover scores 1,000; completing the three lights Jackpot Extra Ball. Play the awarded ball immediately after the current ball, before the next player's turn.

  8. Double or Nothing: Once per player per game, press this button after the start tone and before launching. Light all four targets on that ball to double that ball's points. Failure removes only that ball's points, restoring the score from before the ball.

Need to know
Start
On the Pit Boss console, select Game 1, 2 or 3 and a three-, four- or five-ball game with Ball Handicap. Press Start Player, wait for the start tone, then launch. Two side buttons operate four flippers.
Players
Up to four people can play. For equal game lengths, the first player sets Ball Handicap and the others press Start within the five-second registration window. Follow the display and wait for the start tone before each ball.
Tilt
Tilting stops scoring for the rest of the ball and loses its payout bonus, although the flippers still work. Normal scoring resumes on the next ball.
