Lightning pinball rules and strategy

Complete all nine standup targets to release the locked balls and start three-ball Multiball. Shoot the lit center loop to raise playfield scoring, up to 4x. Use lit return lanes and the center loop to advance Bonus X, and clear both 1-2-3 banks for the center-target award shown on the installed card.

The goal

Finish the nine standups from controlled upper-flipper feeds, then use Multiball to loop the center shot while it is lit. Read the installed instruction card before choosing between Extra Ball, Special, or Bonus Time secondary routes.

  1. Complete all nine standup targets to release the stored balls and begin three-ball Multiball.

  2. During Multiball, shoot the center loop whenever it is lit to add 1x playfield scoring, up to 4x.

  3. Use lit return-lane arrows and further center-loop shots to advance Bonus X toward 5x.

  4. Clear both 1-2-3 banks and collect the lit center target only after confirming whether the installed card awards Extra Ball, Special, or points.

Machine setup

  • Test all nine standups, both 1-2-3 banks and resets, the ball locks and three-ball release, the center loop, return-lane arrows, upper and lower flippers, and both multiplier displays.
  • Record the installed instruction-card variant and verify Extra Ball, Special, and Bonus Time settings before play; do not infer the center-target award from another Lightning setup.
