Olympics pinball rules and strategy

Strategy summary

The goal

On Gottlieb’s Olympics, collect the lit cities to advance the center count. Completing all ten cities scores a replay and lights three targets for more replays. Earlier replay milestones depend on the machine’s installed instruction card.

  1. Collect cities: Roll through a lit city rollover. For a top rollover, its pair of torch bumpers must be lit. Each new city advances the numbered count down the center of the playfield.

  2. Use the spotting targets: Hit a target marked Spots Lighted Top Rollover to collect the city indicated by the lit pair of torch bumpers.

  3. Complete the cities: Collect all ten cities to advance the count to Special. This scores one replay and lights the three targets for Special. Hit a target while Special is lit to score another replay.

  4. Control bumper scoring: Roll over the lower ON button to light the four pop bumpers for 10 points per hit. The adjacent OFF button turns their lights off.
