Pot 'O' Gold pinball rules and strategy
Strategy summary
The goal
Light the numbered W to qualify an extra ball from the backbox. When a ball drains, the separate backbox ball drops through a scoring lane; the lit 500 lane also awards an extra ball.
Light the side numbers: Roll through the upper left lane for 1 or the upper right lane for 9. Hit the left-side targets for 2 and 3, or the right-side targets for 8 and 7, to light those numbers in the W.
Light the middle numbers: Roll over the three top buttons marked 4, 5 and 6 to light the matching W numbers. Targets 4 and 6 beside the lower red bumper and button 5 below it also light their matching W numbers.
Complete one leg of the W: Use the numbered shots to complete 1–2–3, 3–4–5, 5–6–7 or 7–8–9 and light the backbox Extra Ball award. This also raises the two bottom outlanes to 300 points and the two red pop bumpers to 100.
Watch the backbox after a drain: Each ball leaving the playfield launches the separate backbox ball, which drops into a 100-, 300- or 500-point lane. If it enters the center 500 lane while Extra Ball is lit, the same player shoots again.
Complete the W: Use the numbered lanes, targets and buttons to light all nine numbers and win one replay.
