Rancho pinball rules and strategy

In Rancho, plunge the center lane toward the green saucer when green is lit. Complete the red drop bank once to spell RAN, light Double Bonus, and make the left spinner worth 1,000. Then repeat the left spinner into the green saucer or shoot the upper-right chute to build Bonus and return to the top. A second bank completion spells RANCHO for setup-dependent awards.

The goal

Get RAN once for Double Bonus and the valuable left spinner, then loop the spinner-to-green-saucer route or the upper-right chute. Treat the second bank completion as optional when Extra Ball and Special are disabled.

  1. Plunge the center top lane and try to enter the green saucer while its color is lit.

  2. Complete the red drop bank once to light Double Bonus and raise the left spinner to 1,000.

  3. From the right flipper, shoot the left spinner so the ball can continue toward the green saucer.

  4. From the left flipper, use the upper-right chute to advance Bonus and send the ball back to the top.

  5. Complete the bank a second time only when RANCHO awards remain valuable on the current setup.

Score 5,000 unlit or 50,000 when green is lit.

Machine setup

  • Check the installed instruction card before quoting the lit yellow-saucer value; factory cards show different configured values. Also confirm Extra Ball and Special conversion for the RANCHO awards.
  • Test color-selection changes, both saucers and kickouts, the full red bank and reset, RAN and RANCHO lamps, Double Bonus, left-spinner value, every Bonus advance, upper-right chute, lower eject hole, and alternating lower award rollover.
