Sharkey's Shootout pinball rules and strategy
The Strategy
Beat each opponent at the displayed 8-Ball or 9-Ball game, then use Trick Shot to build or collect its value and leave 9-Ball flashing for the next opponent. Spell PAYOFF to relight the three Pool Saves, and make three lit virtual locks to start Multiball.
The goal
Finish the current opponent's pool game, use Trick Shot to select 9-Ball for the next opponent, and rebuild the left, center, and right Pool Saves with PAYOFF. Collect three virtual locks for Multiball when the opponent's remaining drop targets will not hide the jackpots you need.
Plunge the center top lane when it is available for the skill shot and Bumper Pool, then read whether the current opponent is playing 8-Ball or 9-Ball.
For 8-Ball, clear the seven pool-ball drops in any order and shoot the 8-ball scoop. For 9-Ball, make the numbered drops in order and then take the lit finishing shots.
During Trick Shot, hit the two raised roving drops only while they feed safely, then take a flashing-arrow collect. Use the slingshot changes to leave 9-Ball flashing for the next opponent before collecting.
Complete PAYOFF behind the drop targets to build Prize Money and relight the left, center, and right Pool Saves. Use the extra post buttons deliberately rather than spending all three saves on one uncontrolled feed.
Shoot the green Lock at the far-right loop until three virtual balls are locked and Multiball begins. Prefer finishing the current opponent first when its remaining drops would make the Multiball jackpot shots difficult.
During Multiball, make the four lit major-shot jackpots. When the 8-ball Super is lit, collect it before returning to the unfinished opponent route.
Alternative route: Bonus-and-saves route
Use this when the pool-ball drop bank or 8-ball scoop is rejecting too dangerously.
- Complete CUE through the lanes to advance Bonus X and restart Bumper Pool.
- Complete PAYOFF for Prize Money and renewed Pool Saves, using the under-ramp lane when it safely spots letters.
- Return to the opponent only after the bonus and active post saves make the dangerous finishing shot worthwhile.
Need to know
- 8-Ball

Sharkey's Shootout moves from one pool opponent to the next, with a Trick Shot between games and virtual locks building Multiball alongside the drop targets. Keep the next game on 9-Ball when possible, restore the three player-controlled Pool Saves through PAYOFF, and avoid crowding an unfinished opponent with hard-to-reach Multiball jackpots.

Builds toward: Jeanette Lee and The Web
- Beat the first five opponents, using each Trick Shot to advance to the next game.
- Defeat Jeanette Lee at both 8-Ball and 9-Ball.
- Completing that final opponent starts The Web Multiball; follow its lit Jackpots and display because scoring can vary by ROM or game state.
