Soccer pinball rules and strategy
The Strategy
Soccer fixes the player's team when the first red or blue top rollover is collected. Choose the more repeatable color on the plunge, use the top Advance bumper, rollover buttons, matching targets, and lit jets to move that team downfield, then score at the center shooter or matching eject pocket.
The goal
Select the team whose top rollover is easiest to hit, then advance that color through upper play. Take the center shooter or matching eject pocket when it offers a controlled goal, and chase ten goals only when the replay conversion has tournament value.
Before the plunge, compare the red and blue top-rollover paths and confirm how ten goals and Special are scored.
Plunge toward the more repeatable color rollover because the first top rollover locks your team for the game.
After selection, use upper-playfield shots that reach the top Advance bumper, rollover buttons, matching color targets, and lit jets.
Track the selected team's progress on the playfield and backglass.
When a controlled shot is available, use the center shooter or the eject pocket that scores for your selected color.
Test the return from each goal feature before you repeat it.
If ten goals have a useful conversion, continue advancing and scoring for the selected team.
If goals and Special have no tournament value, repeat the safest scoring and Advance feed instead of forcing a goal hole.
Alternative route: Recovery: Selected-color upper play
Recovery pivot: Use this plan when the center shooter or matching eject pocket has an unsafe entry or return.
- Stop shooting the unsafe goal feature.
- Keep the ball in the upper playfield.
- Use the top Advance bumper, rollover buttons, matching targets, and lit jets for selected-team progress.
- Watch for a natural entry into a goal feature.
- Return to direct goal shots only after you have a controlled angle.
Need to know
- Team selection
- The first top rollover selects the red or blue team for the rest of the game.
- Team advance
- The top Advance bumper, two rollover buttons, color targets, and lit jet bumpers move the selected team toward goal.
- Goal shots
- The center shooter and the red or blue eject pockets can score goals directly.

Select the safer red or blue top lane, advance that team through controlled upper play, then use the center shooter or matching eject pocket when its return is known.
