Sorcerer's Apprentice pinball rules and strategy
The Strategy
Use the labeled orbits outside a mode to travel, hit the captive ball to change the available selection, and shoot the left loop from either side to start it. Learn the three attack spells before returning to the Workshop for the Sorcerer.
The goal
Travel to a location, choose its available mode with the captive ball, and start it at the left loop. Learn Fire, Ice, and Lightning, prepare Black Magic Multiball, then use the stack to protect another spell mode before returning to the Workshop for the Sorcerer.
Outside a mode, shoot the labeled orbit for the location you want: Workshop, Bazaar, Dunes, or Oasis.
Hit the captive ball until the desired available mode is selected, then shoot the left loop from either direction to start it.
Learn Fire, Ice, and Lightning in their location modes. Use the white buttons to select the spell color that matches the next lit shot.
While working the spells, hit the side targets to move the Black Magic floatie. Shoot the floatie to light the next lock, then shoot the scoop; repeat for three locks.
Start a spell mode before taking the final Black Magic lock. During the stack, Black Magic satisfies the elemental shots and the spell-mode timer is suspended.
Return to the Workshop. Shoot the right ramp with Fire, then Ice, then Lightning to open the Sorcerer battle; use Shield to absorb his attacks when available.
Alternative route: Health and Shield route
Use this when ward damage is ending spell modes before their objectives are complete.
- Travel to the Oasis and learn Shield, then use the yellow buttons to activate it only during incoming attacks.
- Turn Shield off between attacks so its charge can recover.
- Collect herbs from the relevant standups or the alternating inlane potion to restore health before returning to an attack-spell mode.
