Square Head pinball rules and strategy

Strategy summary

The goal

Complete a line of Xs or Os to light add-a-ball features. Collect the lit award to extend play, then build a new line on the next ball: the grid resets after every ball.

  1. Make a line: The upper bumpers register Xs or Os as indicated on the playfield. Watch the tic-tac-toe grid below them and complete a line of matching symbols to light a hole and a rollover.

  2. Collect an extra ball: Use the lit add-a-ball hole or rollover to earn another ball. The two holes sit beside the grid; the add-a-ball rollovers are higher up, near the lower corners of the bumper area. Check the feature's light before collecting.

  3. Start a new grid: The X and O feature resets after each ball. On the next ball, complete another line to light the add-a-ball features again.
