Super Star / Big Star pinball rules and strategy
The Strategy
Super Star / Big Star uses three protective posts to support a repeating center-saucer collect. Hit the upper outside side targets and lower outside slings to raise the posts, complete either five-button side arc to raise the saucer value, knock down the center target, and shoot the exposed saucer.
The goal
Hit the two upper outside targets and either lower outside slingshot to raise the three protective posts. Sweep either five-button side arc to raise the center-saucer value, knock down the target in front of the saucer, and collect the value before repeating.
Use the opening bumper action to find both upper outside targets and raise the two outlane posts.
Let either lower outside slingshot raise the center post before forcing the main scoring line.
From a controlled flipper, shoot through one complete five-button side arc.
Repeat the safer side arc until the center-saucer value reaches the useful or maximum award.
Hit the center drop target to expose the saucer.
Shoot the open center saucer and collect the built value.
Re-raise any protection that the collect or an incidental switch lowered, then rebuild the saucer.
Alternative route: Protection-first upper play
Use this when the side-button sweep or center target sends unsafe returns.
- Hit the upper outside targets and either lower outside slingshot to raise as many protective posts as the current ball allows.
- Send the ball through the safer upper gap instead of forcing the center target.
- Take incidental red-button advances and SU-P-ER lane progress.
- Return to the center collect only after the target and saucer feeds look repeatable.

- Center-saucer value
- Each completed 1-through-5 side sequence raises the Super Star saucer by 5,000 to a 20,000 maximum.
- Big Star value
- The Add-A-Ball Big Star sibling uses 10,000 advances and a 40,000 center-saucer maximum.
- Saucer access
- The center drop target must fall before a clean shot can enter the scoring saucer behind it.

- Collect 20,000 on Super Star or 40,000 on Big Star.
- Restore protection and repeat.
