Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy pinball rules and strategy
The Strategy
Captain Fantastic sends the ball back to the top to collect lit lanes, A and B, and base-bonus advances. Keep returning upstairs until base bonus reaches 15,000, then protect the 30,000 Double Bonus collect. Use the left drop bank only when the top route becomes unsafe.
The goal
Send the ball to the top until the right Roll through the lit center top lane to open the gate beside the right outlane. A later right-outlane ball returns to the right inlane. is open, A and B are complete, and base bonus is 15,000, protect the 30,000 end-of-ball bonus, then repeat the safer top route or shoot the left drop bank from the lower-right flipper.
On the plunge, read the three top-lane lamps.
When the center lane is lit, guide the ball through it.
- Roll through the lit center top lane to open the gate beside the right outlane. When an outer top lane is lit, collect it for three bonus advances.
Return the ball to the top from either lower flipper.
- Return-to-top lanes: Shoot the left lane from the lower right flipper. Shoot the right lane from the lower left flipper.
Collect the left top lane for A and the right top lane for B.
- A plus B changes the end-of-ball bonus from 1x to 2x for this ball.: A plus B changes the end-of-ball bonus from 1x to 2x for this ball.
Continue the top route until base bonus reaches 15,000. Protect the prepared 30,000 collect.
If the top route stays safe, continue it for lane, bumper, and rollover points.
If the top route becomes unsafe, shoot the left drop bank from the lower right flipper. Do not use an upper flipper until both possible rebounds are known.
Alternative route: Left drop-bank fallback
Use this plan after A plus B changes the end-of-ball bonus from 1x to 2x for this ball. is lit and base bonus is near 15,000, or when the return-to-top lanes are unsafe.
- Hold a raised flipper so a slow ball settles against it, giving you time to plan your next move. on the lower right flipper. Shoot one left drop target at a time.
- Each target scores 500. A full bank scores 3,000 and resets the bank.
- The first completion can light Extra Ball at the right inlane. The second lights Special at the left outlane.
- Later completions award Special directly.
- Stop when the bank rebound begins to threaten either outlane.
