El Dorado pinball rules and strategy
The Strategy
In the original 1975 El Dorado, soft-plunge the lit upper-right lane for 5,000. Then shoot whichever drop target is lit: it scores 5,000 instead of 500. Completing the required top bank or both banks scores 5,000, resets the targets, and lights Special. Three- and five-ball settings change the completion requirement, so check the card first.
The goal
Track the moving 5,000 light and shoot the lit target from the safer flipper. Use a flying Shoot a target on the same side as the active flipper, often from near the flipper base and behind the nearby slingshot. only when a right-bank feed will not Hold a raised flipper so a slow ball settles against it, giving you time to plan your next move.. Finish the qualifying bank once only a few targets remain, then resume lit-target scoring after the reset.
Soft-plunge the lit upper-right lane for 5,000.
Locate the moving 5,000 light and shoot that drop from the flipper with the cleanest angle.
Read each side feed before flipping; Move the cabinet briefly so the playfield shifts under the ball, changing its speed or path after contact with a post, rubber, or wall. slow right-side returns away from the inlane-outlane divider.
When only a few required drops remain, finish the qualifying bank or banks for 5,000 and a reset.
After the reset lights Special, favor fresh lit drops unless the award shot is already safely lined up.
