The Strategy

In Grand Lizard, completing the timed upper Flash Bank awards its displayed value, and two lower locks start three-ball Multiball with 3x playfield scoring. Collect a high bank value, backhand both locks, then release the balls. Rebuild Flash Bank at 100,000 and sweep it while three balls remain.

The goal

Collect high Flash Bank values, Shoot a target on the same side as the active flipper, often from near the flipper base and behind the nearby slingshot. two unqualified locks, then start 3x playfield scoring lasts while three balls remain, then becomes 2x playfield scoring with two balls and normal scoring with one. and score the bank, spinner, and lock passage with 3x playfield scoring.

  1. Plunge medium-soft. Deflect the upper-right feed to the upper-left flipper and Hold a raised flipper so a slow ball settles against it, giving you time to plan your next move. when this copy permits it.

  2. Wait for an 80,000 or 100,000 Flash Bank value. Hit one target to stop it, then complete all four targets before timeout.

    • Flash Bank: The first target stops the moving value and starts its timer; bank completion collects the value, while a sweep scores it twice.
  3. Repeat the Flash Bank while the ball stays on the upper playfield. A Cave shot can raise the stopped value but uses the same timer.

  4. On the lower playfield, Hold a raised flipper so a slow ball settles against it, giving you time to plan your next move. on the left flipper and Shoot a target on the same side as the active flipper, often from near the flipper base and behind the nearby slingshot. the Ball Lock. No qualification is necessary.

    • Ball Lock: The horseshoe passage stores up to two balls before multiball; physical locks are shared between players.
  5. Lock a second ball. Ignore the ready release target until two balls are stored.

  6. Hit the upper release target or lock the third ball to start 3x playfield scoring lasts while three balls remain, then becomes 2x playfield scoring with two balls and normal scoring with one..

  7. During multiball, stop Flash Bank at 100,000 and complete it for 300,000; a sweep scores 600,000.

  8. If the spinner is lit, Shoot a target on the same side as the active flipper, often from near the flipper base and behind the nearby slingshot. it from a controlled right-flipper hold for 6,000 per spin while three balls remain.

  9. Repeat the Ball Lock passage for 90,000 while three balls remain, then return to the upper Flash Bank when one ball remains.

Alternative route: Upper Flash Bank

Use this when the Ball Lock rejects or another player can steal the physical locks.

  1. Keep the ball on the upper playfield.
  2. Start Flash Bank at 80,000 or 100,000.
  3. Complete the bank before timeout.
  4. Ignore the Cave detour unless the Flash Bank timer is generous.
  5. Complete L-I-Z-A-R-D when safe to light the spinner and raise Bonus X.

Machine setup

  • Confirm L-4 and Adjustments 31–44 for timers, feature memory, Extra Ball, Special, lock, and difficulty behavior.
  • Physical locks are shared; check stored balls before every turn and expect another player to release or steal them.
  • Test Flash Bank timing, both locks, release target, spinner, Cave, four flippers, and both Magna-Saves before choosing a route.
